Sounds like a good excuse for earwigging!
Bonfires are lit in the streets of Iran and people jump over them to exorcise the old year and its misfortunes and to bring good fortune in the new one. Wishes are made and in order to make them come true, it is customary to prepare special foods and listen in on conversations – if the talk is of good things then it is believed that the wish will come true or there is good fortune ahead.

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.
